The purpose of the newly activated Global Strike Command is to unite all of the nuclear forces controlled by the Air Force under one commander. The command will take control of the 20th Air Force and the nations ICBM's in the near future. Some of the other units which will also come under the control of this command are the 8th Air Force, the 576th Flight Test Squadron, and the 425th Strategic Operations Squadron.

This command reminds me of the SAC which has been disbanded, but in my humble opinion I think that it will greatly benefit our armed services by providing centrelized command and control of the nuclear capable units of the Air Force. It will also provide a greater deterrent to those who would oppose us just because it exists.

I'm sure that there will be growing pains but the end result will be well worth the cost of organization. There will probably be an esprit amont the airmen who serve in this organization. The best way for an individual assigned to this unit to express his or her espirit would be through the use of an Air Force ring.
