  1. The definition of this term is a deliberate action aimed at weakening your enemy or seting him up to fail. In most cases when this happens during a war the saboteur is not necessarily military. Many times acts of sabotage are committed by civilians sympathetic to a cause or who are members of a resistance movement.

The word originates from the Netherlands from when workers would throw their sabots (wooden shoes) into the cogs of textile looms to break them because they feared that they would eliminate their jobs.

Do you remember the show called Hogan's Heroes? They were successful at committing many acts of sabotage.

The aim of sabotage is not to necessarily to kill your enemy but to slow him down or make it difficult for him to do his job. As many of our custom military ring customers may already know the targets of sabotage won't necessarily be military targets. They are more often industrial or commercial. They will however be targets that will have an influence on the military operations of the enemy.
