  1. free fallThese techniques describe parachute freefall techniques used by the military to insert or deliver personnel and /or equipment into a designated area. HAHO means High Altitude High Opening. This insertion technique is used when personnel are to be dropped into an area that aircraft can not fly over, or when the noise of their chutes opening will alert the enemy to their presence. In a HAHO jump the chutist will actually glide for miles until he reaches a designated spot over the ground. Both these techniques are super stealthy but they are used according to the tactical situation.

In a HALO jump the soldier will freefall and only open his chute when he is close to the ground. This prevents his chute from being seen from the ground during the freefall. If the chute is observed when it opens he will be so close to the ground that he will be able to get out of the area before trouble arrives.

The vast majority of parachutists will jump into an area using a static line. The static line pulls the chute open for the jumper as he or she exits the aircraft. This is the method that conventional paratroopers (regular infantry soldiers) will use. HALO/HAHO techniques are normally used by special operations units. We offer parachute emblems, and badges that we offer our military ring customers who have been or are currently paratroopers. You can create your own paratroopers ring using any of our designs.
