You probably don't remember it because I never heard of it before today. I was in the military at that time also. Just because I sell custom military rings doesn't mean that I know everything.

Anyway this operation took place in October 1987 and was a retailatory strike against Iran after it attacked a Kuwaiti oil tanker. The tanker was empty at the time but 18 of its crewmen were injured in the attack. The US retaliated by destroying two Iranian oil platforms which it said were serving as radar and command and control platforms for Iranian operations. One of the platforms was destroyed by Naval gunfire and the other was boarded and searched by Special Operations troops who used explosives to destroy it. This is just one of the many operations that our special operations ring customers perform almost as a matter of routine that we never hear about.

Once again and I have said this many times before, we owe these operators a debt of gratitude for the work that they have done for us in the war on terror and in whatever other operations that they conduct on a routine basis. Our special forces military ring customers are certainly due for gratitude.
