The US is moving forward in the battle against IED's. The latest move to try to limit the casualties that they cause has been the employment of counter IED teams in Iraq and Afghanistan. Hopefully this will help to prevent injuries to our troops and maybe save some lives.

IED's have been the guerilla warriors to the superior firepower of our forces. They are the perennial hit and run type of weapon. We have adapted in many other ways to try to counter the carnage caused by there weapons with good success. These teams won't directly prevent terrorists from using IED"s, hopefully they will have an indirect effect.

The job of these teams is to gather information from where IED's have exploded or were found so that the evidence can be analyzed to prevent their use in future operations. The team will gather, and analyze evidence once it has been called to action. I don't know anything at all about the process but I know they they were given specialized training. This training will need to be added to the custom designs that we use on the custom military rings that we produce.
