Most of you military ring customers have already heard of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. For those of you who hadn't let the military ring man drop a little knowledge on you today. To be perfectly honest with you I didn't know much about either the F-22 or thr F-35 until recently.

The F-35 is a stealthy, multirole, fighter which can be used for providing close air support, or aerial defense, and can be used as a bomber. This airplane was designed to replace the A-10 Warthog, the F-16, and the F/A-18. Since it is a joint aircraft it will be used by the US and many of our allies. Now here is where the military part of me kicks in. I say lets not share this magnificent technology with anyone, but I guess that thats the way that things had to be done. So be it. You can see why this aircraft will only save money in the future because it replaces so many other aircraft that we have.

The F-35 is second only to the F-22 Raptor in ability. We kept the Raptor for ourselves so 1 out of 2 ain't bad. But just think about how much of a tsctical advantage that we would have with both of these aircraft exclusively in our inventory.

There will be 3 different models of this airplane once it is produced. The first will be more of a conventional take off and landing aircraft (CTOL). The next model will be a model designed to take off and land on short runways such as you would find in areas close to the front lines (STOVL), and the last will be designed to take off from and land on aircraft carriers (CATOBAR). No matter where these aircraft are deployed they will give our armed forces ring customers a tremendous technological and tactical advantage on the modern battlefield.
