Senior Navy Chief Petty Officer Philip Ryan III has been awarded the Silver Star medal for valor while serving in Afghanistan. Much of the story is classified so we may never know the full details. One thing that we do know is that he was cited for bravery during a firefight in which he also assisted three other wounded SEALs.

The Silver Star is one of our highest awards for valor and believe me they are not passed out freely. If the chief got it he earned it. NAVY SEAL's have been awarded dozens of these medals since the war on terror began, but due to the nature of their job we will probably never learn many details of why the awards were given. One thing that the chief can do is to create a custom Navy Chief Petty Officer's Ring to help him tell his story of the time that he served in Operation Enduring Freedom and any other operation that he has served in. I don't know if he will because you never hear a real Navy SEAL bragging about what he has done. 

Each one of us has a story to tell. When you see a serviceman or woman in uniform you only need to look at the awards that they are wearing to get an accurate picture of what they did in service. When you design your custom military ring you are telling the world what you have done. The military ring, or Navy ring is the testament to the world about what you have done for your country. You don't have to brag, just let the truth be seen.
