0. The Army's Best Warrior competition is a gruelling 6 day competition held each year in Fort Lee Virginia. In this event the best of the best are tested and evaluated during a varietyof events. The thing that I like about this competition is that it is designed to evaluate skills which are relevant to modern warfare. when I look at the events I see that they are planned around events and tasks that the soldier has to perform on the battlefield as we know it today.

The event tests the soldiers combat skills, qualities and abilities, the soldiers are drilled by boards of Sergeant Majors who ask tough questions. They are put through battle drills and evaluated, given written exams, and must qualify with the M-4 rifle. They must also qualify in day and night urban warfare orientation courses.

The winners of this years competition were SFC Aaron Beckman,who was named the NCO of the year, and Spc Clancy Henderson who was named the soldier of the year.
