  1. airborne

Airborne soldiers are soldiers who are typically inserted behind enemy lines by either parachute, glider, or helicopter. The use of airborne soldiers must be carefully calculated for maximum results and minimum losses. When they are used correctly they can cause absolute havoc among the enemies rear echelon forces. They can disrupt the ability of the enemy to sustain combat on the front by disrupting his supply and command and control among other things.

Commanders have to consider how paratroopers will be resupplied and removed from the action when they are dropped behind enemy lines. They are light forces by nature so they don't have a lot of heavy firepower. They are not normally used for sustained operations but sometimes they are required to go long periods of time with little or no resupply. This type of soldier must have initiave and resourcefullness.

Air assault operations are a type of airborne operation where soldiers are carried into battle in helicopters. The biggest advantage to this is that they can be dropped off and picked up and moved around the battlefield very quickly which  makes them a devastating force when used correctly. This really makes this warfare a type of chess game. If you have ever been associated with any of these types of units we have the custom military ring design work available to help you create your own custom airborne ring or air assault ring.
